Itombwe Conservation

Congo Children
Eastern Lowland Baby Gorilla

The only way to protect the Gorillas and other Wildlife of the Itombwe is by first coming along side and enlisting the hearts and minds of the local people in ways that will improve their quality of life and help them to believe in a viable future for their own children. The overall goal and work of Itombwe Conservation is to develop such a strong relationship and interconnectedness between the great forest, the gorillas and wildlife, and the local people - that an enduring and sustainable future might not only serve the Itombwe, but might become a model for similar realities in other parts of the world. Trees/forests, clean water/rain, wildlife and humanity must thrive in a dynamic and wonderful context of living - NOT dying.
